2nd Story is a project that tells the story behind the picture. In an age where we are bombarded with imagery, we can easily lose appreciation for what the image maker endured to bring the image to us. There are also stories to be told of the consequences the subjects endured once their image became public.

(FATIMA by Michael Rayment.) This image I took of Fatima possibly saved her life. If you look at her right eye closely you will see a small lump in the centre of her eyelid. Both Fatima and I did not notice it at the time I photographed her. Weeks later she contacted me to let me know that after seeing this image she sought medical advice. The lump was cancer and if left much longer she would have lost the sight from this eye and there was a real risk the cancer could have spread to her brain. The power of photography!
